| Notes on support and decorations | Large head of a man with the eyes scarcely indicated (originally painted), a small tight lipped mouth, a large flat triangular nose with some shaping to the base, a heavy brow ridge, and a large chin. The head was probably originally set in an inscribed base or displayed inside a niche. The head is not finished to a fine polish; there are fine rifle marks across the surface of the face and rough tool marks on either side. The poll and back of the head are roughly carved. |
