| Notes on support and decorations | Head relatively well modeled and realistic. The face bears a small smile; the eyes, scarcely indicated, were originally painted; the nose has the nostrils fully shaped. The cheeks are modelled realistically and the chin projects outwards from the face. There is no moustache or beard but the face has a strong jaw and masculine features. The head was probably originally set in an inscribed base or displayed inside a niche. The back is roughly finished. |
