| Notes on support and decorations | This female head has an unusual simian-like appearance with hollow close set eyes, originally inlaid, a very long triangular nose, high cheekbones, sunken cheeks, a narrow jaw, a mouth positioned low on the chin, and c-shaped ears with heavy lobes positioned very low on the head. The face is framed by a fringe of fine incised lines above the hairline and a stepped hairline above temples. The hair, falling to below the chin, is roughly finished and covered with short tool marks on the top, back and sides. |
