| Notes on support and decorations | This black stone fragment of a female face is particularly finely carved and highly polished. Once part of a small sculpted head, this fragment retains a left lidded eye and part of the right, a left incised eyebrow originally inlaid, the left cheek and part of right, a little aquiline nose, and a small full lipped mouth with a sweet smile. The pupil of the eye, hollowed for inlay, contains a crystalline yellow material, which could be either the remains of inlay. This head was belonging to a statuette. |
