| Notes on support and decorations | Carved calcite-alabaster male face in high relief, with incised eyes, eyebrows (originally inlaid), and mouth, with a short curtain beard. The face has a high forehead, indented temples and high ears. Drilled holes represent the iris of the eye (possibly originally inlaid), the nostrils in the pig-like nose, and a tuft of hair in the centre of the chin (also inlaid). The head is rough tooled at the back and top. |
