| Notes on support and decorations | A bronze cast statuette of a standing bull. Unlike many of the other examples in the collection, this bull lacks the characteristic wrinkles above the eyes and the horns are particularly long and straight. There are tiny indentations in the muzzle to indicate whiskers. The neck comes to a sharp angle forming a straight line down the front of the animal. The tail curled over the animal’s left hind quarters. There is a square hole cutting deeply into the bull’s underside which reveals the clay core. This hole, cut into the wax model, may have served to locate the core. The left foreleg is broken at the knee. |
