CULTURAL NOTES
This is an exact replica in miniature of a distinct type of round incense burner on a splayed base with an ibex in front of a spiked architectural facade, of which there is an example in the British Museum collection (Simpson ed. 2002: 96, cat. 104); it is from Mārib and possibly dates to the 3rd century BC.
