| Notes on support and decorations | Rectangular stela in low relief depicting a complex, narrative scene in four registers, starting from the lower register, where a man riding a horse at full gallop is represented; the man wears trousers and a headgear. On the right, a servant, wearing a skirt, is following the rider. On the second register, in the centre, the same man is represented struggling with a bull. The man, wearing a pleated skirt and without headgear, is depicted while he is catching the bull’s horns. On both sides of the protagonist there are two armed servants, both wearing a skirt: the right one raises over his head a hooked weapon; the left one raises a knife with his right hand. The bull, with the muzzle in frontal view, is depicted with a spotted coat (as a leopard). In the third register the protagonist and his servant (both wearing trousers) are riding a camel. They bring back the hunting trophy probably consisting in the animal’s skin (the bull’s tail is well visible hanging from the camel flank). A circular object, usually interpreted as water skin, hangs on the camel's hind flank. In the upper register the man and his servant, both with a stick (or spear) in their right hand, are stately walking. The man wears a headgear, which resembles to a crown, a long pleated dress and the bull’s skin as cloak. The skin is decorated with a series of superimposed decorated bands, as in the previous register. |
